We are so excited to begin Avalon Beach Church this year. Our theme for the summer is “Lord, Teach Us to Pray.” The disciples walked with Jesus, can you imagine…
Can you imagine…We can have the same closeness with the Father that Jesus had.
They saw him heal the paralytic lowered down through a roof. But they did not ask, “Lord, teach us to heal.”
They saw him deliver a demonized young man chained to the tombs. But they did not ask, “Lord teach us to deliver.”
They heard him preach a powerful sermon on a mountain top. But they did not ask, “Lord, teach us to preach.”
But when they saw him pray…when they saw the closeness Jesus had with His father…they cried out in desperation, “Lord, teach us to Prayer!”
They wanted what Jesus had, and when Jesus prayed His prayer in John 17, he asked for the same thing! Jesus said, “Father, I want those who follow me to be in us the way that I am in You.”
That’s what we are going to be talking about this summer. The Lord’s Prayer can change our lives…Can’t wait to share these 12 messages with you.
