Silent Priest…Singing Prophet

Are you living in “the thrill of hope,” or are your days right now more like “a weary world rejoices?” The holidays can be tough.

Tania and I want you to know that we are thinking and praying for the Avalon Beach Church family and we are trusting that each of us can see “the new and glorious morning” that is coming because of the Holy Night of Christ’s birth.

I am including a link in this post of a message that I preached at Wesley Church entitled: “Silent Priest…Singing Prophet.” It focuses on Zechariah, the father of John the Baptist. One of the best parts of the storyline comes at the very beginning. When God the Father sovereignly decides that the time is right for the Messiah’s birth as well as the forerunner who will prepare the way, He finds a couple who had long since given up hope of having a child.

God brings joy to their barrenness. The message ends with the hope of light in the shadows. I have to tell you, I needed to hear myself preach this message. I hope that it will encourage you.

We can’t wait to be back on the 30th Street beach with each of you on Father’s Day weekend in June of 2020 to start our 7th season of ABC. As we close this year and launch into the new, may the love of the Father, the grace of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit be with each of you.

Here’s the link for Silent Priest…Singing Prophet: (the sermon starts at about the 29-minute mark)
