It’s Going to Be Another Gorgeous Day at ABC!

We would love to have you join us on the 30th Street beach in Avalon this Sunday at 9am. We are going sing about trading our sorrows and how Jesus paid it all; we are going to pray that God would pour out his precious Holy Spirit on all who attend; and we are going to focus on our theme: A Summer of 3:16!

This week, our chapter 3 verse 16 will come from the book of 2 Thessalonians: “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.”

Last week we looked way back at Exodus 3:16. That chapter is about the call God made on Moses’ life. God appeared in a burning bush and invited Moses to free the children of Israel from the cruel bondage they experienced from the Egyptians. Moses was standing before a fiery, holy God and was asked to take his shoes off because even the ground was holy! But all he could focus on in the beginning was himself. He was a stutterer, a shepherd who lived with his father-in-law (underachiever) and a murderer.

He responded to God’s call with the absolute WRONG question:  “Who am I?”

When God promised him that He would go with him, it must have jarred Moses’ thinking. He finally asked the absolute RIGHT question:  “Who are You?”

God answered in three ways: 1). I am who I am 2). I am the LORD (Yahweh) 3). I am the God of your fathers: Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

God is the ultimate reality; He is the Lord and King; and he is engaged in your family line.  GOD IS BOTH PEERLESS AND PERSONAL! He has no equal and he knows the names of those in your heritage. He made Moses this promise and he will make the same promise for you:  “I have watched over you and have seen what has been done to you.” He sees, cares and will deliver!

That’s a pretty good 3:16 verse! And they are going to keep getting better!  Join us this week for a message of PEACE.  Bring your beach chair, some coffee and a carload of family and friends!
